Trauma

If a person is suffering with trauma we find that the person finds it nearly impossible to get through the day without thinking about whatever it is that caused the state of being. If an episode has occurred that is powerful enough it can register at the subconscious level and can come into a person’s awareness time and time again without effort. Maybe a person has been attacked, raped or has witnessed some terrifying event, what ever it is the mind can seem like it does not want to let go of the memory.

It is like a protection device where the mind does not want to got through the same thing again so it keeps on reminding the person how bad it was to prevent them from re-experiencing it again. The mind actually thinks it is helping the person by reminding them therefore keeping the person on their toes just in case it happens again. Although admirable this mental program tends to be too intense and lasts too long as a reminder and that’s where the problem lies. Many people stay living in the nightmare repeating it daily in their daily thoughts and never moving on from it.

Whatever the trauma was it is a learning experience for the person suffering from it and once the learning has been extracted the person should in time move on and forget about it having learned any lesson from it for future reference. In an ideal world that would happen but in reality when most people encounter some form of trauma they live in fear of it happening again and allowing the same thoughts to freely run around their brains affecting every decision that they make. This cycle for most is difficult to break and some go to their graves with it still fresh in their minds. If you can relate to any of this then read on.

Your thoughts control the way you feel so if you are doing any of the above you must be living a pretty unhappy existence. If you do not want to live the rest of your life living with one foot in the shadow of your trauma there is help. The good news though is that I can teach you a way to control the thoughts that cause you so much pain. You can train your mind to forget about the trauma so that you can start to move on in your life. This is done with though re-training. Thought re-training is away which blocks a person’s negative thoughts in the same way a firewall program blocks a hacker from trying to gain access to your computer. One of the things people often say to me is if we learn a way to forget our past trauma’s aren’t we really putting our heads in the sand.

To that I say this: How many times do you have to remember it before you can get on with the rest of your life?  When a person comes to see me and I teach them thought re-training I am not saying to them “pretend that it never happened” all we are doing is saying that how much of your life do you spend thinking about what happened and do you want the rest of your life to be doing just the same. We are not denying that the event happened at all; all we are saying is that it is time to say enough is enough. If you are here then you survived it so lets get on with making the best of the rest of your life. You cannot do that if you are constantly thinking about the past.

You cannot move on and into a better future if you are constantly churning over the past. People who come to see me at my office have churned it over enough and they come see me for help to move on from it. They are not in denial and they do not leave in denial either! The learning is there, it is imprinted in the subconscious so it will never truly be forgotten so you don’t have to constantly remind yourself every day in order to prevent another episode from happening. The learning is there it won’t let you forget it deep down; it just doesn’t have to be there in the forefront of your mind every day.

If you have indeed suffered a traumatic experience and seek help to overcome it I would be pleased to help. Anxiety and mental anguish are my area of expertise and with the techniques I have honed over the years I can help you to over come your pain. Thought re-training is painless and easy to apply and clients report that the benefits can be experienced in less than a week. If for reasons such as location or finances you cannot come to see me personally. All of the techniques and philosophies are outlined in The Principles of life book. Do not let whatever trauma become your whole life. Do some thing about it right now; don’t let yourself be a victim forever.
