Vitamin supplementation do I need it?

 

Take vitamins.

There is much controversy when it comes to vitamin supplementation, with different experts saying different things. Both sides of the argument have valid points and I have researched both viewpoints quite extensively. After studying both sets of data I have come to the resounding conclusion that not only do we need vitamin supplementation, but also without it we will probably die a lot sooner. I used to suffer quite badly from colds and flu but now I have found that if I take vitamin C when the first sign of a symptom begins, then it doesn't ever develop.

 

In June 2000 I began taking Maximol Solutions which is a liquid colloidal vitamin and mineral supplement which I drink every day. There are over one hundred vitamins and trace minerals contained in sub-microscopic form in every daily intake. After three days of using this supplement I felt that my body had returned to my real age and that a new lease of life was upon me. As an expert on all things within the mind I questioned whether the effects were due to my wanting this product to work and whether the effects were merely a placebo effect.

 

To that I say this: one year on, I still feel exactly the same as I did after the first three days of taking the supplement. I now have an extra two hours a day of energy that I could not produce in the past, no matter how much I tried with positive thinking. I now am very rarely sick anymore and if I am it is hardly worth mentioning. Recently I bumped into my G.P. who remarked on how well I looked and mentioned that he hadn't seen me in ages. To that I told him “I'm sorry Doctor, but I don't think we will be seeing much of each other in the future!” At that he laughed and said to me that I should write a book (little did he know I had already started it!)

 

Is it just a placebo effect that I feel? Maybe it is, but let me tell you this: if it is, I’ll take the placebo anytime rather than go back to the way I used to feel. Will I live to be over 100? Who knows if I will or not or whether I would have without supplementation or not? However I do know this for sure: however old I reach, I will definitely be making the most of my life. Regardless of how old I am before I depart, I know that I will be enjoying every moment with every up and down and I am committed to living the best life possible! You should too.

 

I take two types of vitamin supplements, the first is Maximol Solutions , as mentioned above, available from www.neways.co.uk . The second is calcium in chelated form called Calcium Bone Formula from Kordells. Please note that I make no money from endorsing these products, nor do I work for these companies. These are just the products that I use and I tell it as it is.

 

One of the things, which I have recently become aware of while studying health is the importance of bodily pH in maintaining health. Experts say that for a person to be in good health and remain so their bodily pH should be around 7.4. What that means is that your saliva should be slightly alkaline and not acidic. Experts have found that when people become ill they predominantly have a pH that is acidic and not alkaline. This acidity can be destructive to our bodies as they try to compensate for this problem by extracting the necessary nutrients from our organs to try to correct our pH.

 

 Sometimes our bones are affected first as the calcium is extracted from them to bolster the deficit. Osteoporosis is the usual side effect of this process. We must have the correct bodily pH in order for us to remain healthy and disease-free. A simple way to test your own pH is to take a litmus paper test. This paper can be bought at some chemists or it can be ordered. By dipping some litmus paper into the saliva in your mouth you will get an instant result of your bodily pH (hopefully around 7.4). The test should come back blue unless you have a different colour of litmus paper; some testing kits have the pH scale on the product itself.

 

I would definitely invest in such a kit for your own peace of mind. The last kit I bought cost around £5 and I have done over 200 tests with it! Experts say that in order to change bodily pH, supplements are invaluable, Calcium is one element that when used as a supplement helps to correct your pH. A friend of mine started on the same supplementation as myself and in six months his pH went from 6.0 acidic to 7.4 alkaline. Do not expect rapid results from supplements, though, as they do not work like drugs.

During my 7 years of practice I have always pride myself on finding the quickest and most cost effective ways for my clients to over come their problems. As stated previously, some conditions can be corrected by proper nutritional supplementation.

It also helps those who are stopping smoking. It is a powerful antioxidant.

VITAMIN E

Said to be good for a persons skin, could be helpful for those with skin problems such as acne.  Vitamin E has also been heralded as an aid to helping treat and combat Cancer.

CALCIUM

The king of all minerals! There is so much benefit in taking Calcium I don’t know where to start. Firstly it helps to prevent osteoporosis and other bone affecting diseases such as Arthritis. Secondly tests show that it strengthens the heart. Thirdly it regulates your bodily P.H to the correct ratio. That’s a lot of stuff and that just the tip of the iceberg. MAGNESIUM

 

An essential bind for Calcium, Magnesium is an essential ingredient to make all of the above work. Linked to lowering cholesterol and preventing artery disease.

With all of the above there will be a lot of conflicting theories within the medical profession (as there always is) to the long-term validity of such claims. What I suggest is to take what vitamins and minerals you think you need and don’t just forget about conventional medicine. I believe that they both can work quite well together so I suggest you use both. If I get a headache I still take paracetamol, I do not run into the garden to look for herbs, but I do supplement with vitamins and Calcium every day. The funny thing is that I am rarely ill. Maybe a coincidence, who knows?
