              Mission Statement

OK you've clicked on this link. WHY? Are you just killing time or was there a reason why. The reason I have put it on this site was to give you a framework for getting your life in the right direction. Taken from my book The Principles of Life this Mission Statement  can help you get your life sorted.

To most people, the thought of writing a mission statement is a little daunting. This is because most people have the false idea that it requires a lot of writing. In fact, the amount of writing is not as important as the amount of thought required. A simple company mission statement could be “Always to value the customer”; a personal mission statement could be as simple as “I’m going to live the best life ever and be as successful as I can”. This is just an example of a simple but empowering mission statement, which is the core of your goals.

If you said “I want to be a millionaire and have a Ferrari and live in a big house with acres of land”, yes, these are goals but they do not form a mission statement. The mission statement asks the question “why do you want those things?”. The answer to that question should be the core of the mission statement. These things may be things that add up to or contribute to your mission statement but they are not the mission statement. The mission statement is the centre of your world, the driving force that decides what decisions you take in life. It is the pivot upon which you assess all major decisions or directions that you take.

This does not mean that a mission statement cannot change, because quite often on our journey to personal happiness we encounter new experiences that can alter the way forward for us. As long as the mission statement has the same integrity as it had when it was first conceived, it’s O.K. to change it along the way. For instance, you may have been single at the time of writing it and may now need to include some new people in there!

OK HERE is the link for the Mission Statement. Print it out and write the mission Statement at the top space provided and put the things you need to do in order for it to happen such as:" I need to stop taking life too seriously" or whatever else you think you need in the spaces provided below it.
