The accumulation of stress is a common and damaging condition, which eats away at a person until they can literally blowout! Stress is certainly a perception-based problem, which can be fixed by both stress management techniques and Hypnosis. In the vast majority of cases the cause is a persons thinking, which leads to an over exaggeration of thoughts which then blow out of proportion. A high number of sufferers are in jobs where deadlines are enforced but sometimes stress affects people who seem to have no real hardships. Stress is brought about by one thing and one thing only: thinking. You cannot feel stressed without thinking stress-producing thoughts — it’s impossible.

When we are suffering from stress it occurs when we take the whole of the events of our life and think about them at the same time. This causes a mental overload and adrenalin is then flushed into the body. The more a person thinks about their life in this way, the more stressed they become. Trying to solve one’s problems by focusing on them all at the same time is the cause of this tension build-up.

The individual who is going through this scenario feels like a coiled spring, ready to pop at any second. At this point all sense has gone out of the window and anything that is said or done is taken the wrong way. The person suffering from stress usually does not take advice too well and views it as criticism. Any little thing is analysed and blown out of proportion because there is too much information going into the mind at once. Paranoia can set in as the devious conscious mind is in full flow and firing on all cylinders.

Like most conditions learning about how to control ones own thoughts is the key to successful resolution. This is done by learning and using my thought retraining technique. Successful stress reduction is usually easy to deal with and requires three sessions for successful resolution with further reinforcing of the therapy on the clients part. A CD of your hypnosis session will be provided with each appointment. If seeing me personally is not possible due to distance a full and detailed recovery plan is given in the principles of life book where the thought re-training technique is explained as well as some more mental relaxation exercises to bring about more emotional peace.

Contained inside the book are the strategies for overcoming stress and learning to neutralize the real cause. Do not be put off by the simplicity of reading a book to help you as many people have found it very effective for them with a cessation of anxiety after using the many exercises contained.

If you are suffering with stress try this simple mental relaxation exercise below that helps you to put your daily challenges into their proper perspective and will help in your stress management.

Stress Eliminator

1. Find a quiet place, close your eyes and relax. Think about the stress or annoying thought that is bothering you. See it in the normal way that you have been thinking of it. Notice how you feel.

2. Imagine putting a frame of some sort around the stress or annoying thought so that it looks like a picture or a movie.

3. Mentally move it away in your mind’s eye so that it is smaller and less “in your face”. Notice how you feel. For most people this lessens the intensity of the feelings associated with the thought. Move it away further still, until you can look at it without any anxiety.

4. If there are still feelings of anxiety associated with the thought, dull the colour a bit and turn down any volume. Looking at the scene in your mind now, ask yourself this question: “What can I learn from this?”.

5. When you have extracted the learning from the thought, mentally push it away so that it is tiny. Imagine pushing it into a black hole or something similar. Repeat the process of pushing the thought away whenever it pops up again, as this teaches the subconscious mind that this issue is now finished
